Jule Mulhern Hughes, 92, of Wilkes-Barre died Sunday at Heritage House.
Born July 26, 1911, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Thomas F. and Sarah (Kirk) Mulhern.
She was a graduate of St. Leo's High School, Ashley, and Columbia University School of Nursing. Mrs. Hughes was a pediatric nurse at Columbia University Babies Hospital in New York prior to marriage. She was a member of St. Therese's Parish, Wilkes-Barre, and its choir and senior citizens club. She was also a member of the Kaycees, Ladies of Charity, Mercy Hospital Auxiliary and Pennsylvanians for Human life.
Preceded in death by her husband, Edwin W. "Ted" Hughes December, 1998; a sister, Sarah Gertrude Kelly; brothers, Attorney Peter F. John V. and Thomas A. Mulhern.
Surviving are daughters, Jule Ann Conlon of Columbus, Ohio; Iva Hanlon of Wilkes-Barre; and Roberta Feldman of Tampa, Florida; 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from McLaughlin Family Funeral Service, 142 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, with a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Therese's Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
Friends may call Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, 34 Street and Civic Center Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19104-4399.
