     1900 Census shows Frederick living at home, 235 Park Ave. Occupation listed as Day Laborer.
Life long bachelor. 1910 Census indicates Fred not living at home at that time.
1920 Federal Census showed Fred Mehm (single) age 31 living as a boarder with Charles Deitrick at 179 So. Washington St., W-B. (According to his DOB he was 35 at the time).
Obituary says he resided in the Rolling Mill Hill section of Wilkes-Barre the greater part of his life. He was a member of St. Nicholas Church.

     Was living at home (235 Park Ave.) in 1910 per Census. Age listed as 18.
She lived in Wilkes-Barre all her life. She belonged to St. Nicholas, attended St. Nicholas School, was president of Altar and Rosary Society, member of Ladies Social Club of St. Nicholas.

Was living at home (235 Park Ave.) in 1920 per Census. Age 28. Occup: Dressmaker.

Her occupation was listed as Dressmaker in marriage docket, and residence as Wilkes-Barre. Age listed as 29.

1930 Census lists Helen. Age 38, owns home, valued at $6000. Living at 13 Huston Street.
Living with her, husband Carl, son William, son Carl Jr, son Lawrence, and daughter Mary E.

Her obituary stated she was living at 207 Park Ave., when she died in 1964.

Birth Note:    Obituary says she was born Dec. 31, 1891.

Individual Note:
     He was associated with his father in the W.A. Weis Shoe Company for a number of years. He later owned and operated the Carl A. Weis Shoe Company, (13-15 Huston Street), Wilkes-Barre, for 20 years. Before his death he had been employed at Vulcan Iron Works.
Carl was a veteran of World War I and served as a corporal with an Army motor transport company in France for 11 months. He was a member of St. Nicholas Church and it's Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the board of St. Nicholas Credit Union and American Legion Post 132.

Carl's name was listed as Paul A. WEISS in the marriage docket, book 51, #93440.
Occupation listed as Salesman here. Resided in W-B at time of marriage. Age listed as 29.

1930 Census lists Carl's name as WEISS. Age 38, owns home, valued at $6000. Occup: Commercial Travels, Shoe Industry. Living at 13 Huston Street.
Living with him, wife Helen, age 38, born PA., son William (8), son Carl Jr (5), son Lawrence (2-1/2), and daughter Mary E. (11/12).

Individual Note:
     Margaret Hughes came from Scotland with her mother Elizabeth Hughes at about one year of age.
1880 Census lists her born in Scotland, 8 years old in 1880. Also states her father was born in Ireland and her mother born in Scotland. In 1880 she was living on Main Street, Plains Township, 3rd district with her brother John Biggins (half-brother?) and his mother Agnes ------ Biggins(?). No street number available.

1900 Census states she Immigrated to the U.S. in 1873. Occupation listed as Silk Mill in 1900. Census said born 1872 in Scotland. Maggie is listed as the sister-in-law of John Kline in this Census.
(Note: If Maggie immigrated in 1873, and Elizabeth immigrated in 1870, they couldn't have come over together).

Marriage license issued Oct. 13, 1903, lists: DOB: Dec. 25, 1872; Born: Ayrshire, Scotland. Residing in W-B. Occupation: Factory-hand. (not married before).
Note: for some reason unbeknownst to me, I had her date of birth as Jan. 8, 1873.

1910 Census states she Immigrated to the U.S. in 1872.
1910 Census also stated she was the mother of 3 children, one still living at that time. (John).
She lived in W-B with her half-sister Elizabeth and John Kline till she married John Krachenfels. She was still living with John Kline in 1900 according to the Census, and was age 28 at this time.

Death certificate lists address at time of death as 19 Casey Ave., W-B Twp.
Age listed as 77, DOB Jan. 8, 1873. Widowed at the time. Neither parent's names identified on Death Cert. Information provided by John J. Krachenfels, (her son).
Also lists her having lived in W-B Twp. for 75 years.

Obituary; Wilkes-Barre Record, Thursday, April 6, 1950.
Mrs. Margaret Krachenfels of 19 Carey Avenue, Georgetown, was found dead yesterday afternoon in her home where she lived alone.
Her body was discovered by a niece, Mrs. Louis Pahler, who was summoned by neighbors when they did not see Mrs. Krachenfels about her house. Deputy Coroner Charles Leagus gave a heart attack as the cause of death and stated the woman had probably been dead since Tuesday night.
Mrs. Krachenfels, the former Margaret Hughes, was born in Wilkes-Barre and had resided at Georgetown for 35 years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church and the parish societies. Her husband John died 11 years ago, April 13.
She is survived by a son, John, New York City, and two sisters, Ruth Klein and Mrs. Agnes Rickard, both of Wilkes-Barre. The body was removed to the funeral home, 243 South Washington Street.
