Individual Note:
     LDS Ancestral File lists Bridget Cunningham as spouse of Patrick Mulhearn. Bridget born August 1853 in Oneida, NY. Also states Patrick and Bridget married 1873.

Bridget's place of birth was listed as Binghamton, NY, in her son Joseph's marriage docket in June, 1929.

1880 Census lists Bridget, age 25,living with Patrick Mulherin, age 33, a miner, at 85 Oak Street in Village of Jeddo, Luzerne County, with son Charles, age 2, and son Thomas, age 1/24th.

She was 31 years old in 1885.
She had 10 children, 6 surviving in 1885.

1900 Census lists Bridget, age 46, born 1853 in New York, living with Patrick MULHERRIN, age 54, born 1846 in Ireland, living in Hazle Township, 1st District, Luzerne County; with nine children seven still living; also following children: Chas, age 22, born 1877 in PA; Thomas, age 20, born 1880 in PA; Joseph, age 17, born 1882 in PA; John, age 15, born 1885 in PA; Mary, age 12, born 1887 in PA; Frances, age 7, born 1892 in PA; and Annie, age 5, born 1895 in PA.

1910 Census lists Bridget, age 55, living with Patrick, age 64 in Luzerne County (Enumeration District 0038 which is Hazle Township) with son Charles, age 34; son John, age 25; daughter Mary, age 22; son Francis, age 18; daughter Annie, age 15; and Bridget's brother Charles Cunningham, age 51. Charles C. born in New York.
Patrick born Ireland, Bridget born New York and all children born PA.

1920 Census lists Bridget, age 68, living with Patrick, age 70 in Oakdale, Luzerne County with son Charles, age 42; son Joseph, age 35; son John, age 32; daughter Mary, age 32; son Francis, age 27; and daughter Anna, age 25. Bridget's brother Charles Cunningham either died between 1910 and 1920, or moved away.
Patrick born Ireland, Bridget born New York and all children born PA.
Occupations listed are: Patrick, laborer in a coal colliery; Charles, miner; Joseph, a restauranteur; John, a miner; Mary, unemployed; Francis, a coal miner; and Anna, unemployed.

Bridget is not listed in the 1930 Census. Patrick is a widower.

     The following notes were provided by Neil Gallagher:
Daniel was born in 1799. He died 4 March 1890 at the age of 91. His death was registered by his daughter Nancy Gallagher. Cause of death uncertified. Occupation farmer.

The name of Daniel's wife not known, she died before Daniel, he was listed a widower on his death certificate.
The Tithe book lists Donal as living in Magheralosk in 1831. He was 32 years old at that time.

(Neil Gallagher's notes: May 1999):
There are only a few elderly folks left in Magheralosk today, but those few are well aware that Daniel was the father of Manus Rua, Peter (Peadar) and Patrick (Padraig). He also had two daughters, Moira and Nancy, residing in Magheralosk.

Individual Note:
     Peter was known locally as Peadar Dhonail Froincis, his father's name was Dhonail (Daniel) and his grandfather's name was Froincis (Francis)

Peter and Kate Coll were married in the Roman Catholic Church of Gweedore 24 February 1873 in the presence of James Gallagher (probably a friend) and Fanny McGee. The officiating priest was Fr. Hugh McFadden. Peter's father, Daniel, was still alive. Kate's father, Thomas Coll was listed as deceased.
Peter and Catherine Coll lived in Tully, Magheragallon for a while.

Peter and Ellen Harley were maried in the Roman Catholic Church of Gweedore 15 March 1879 in the presence of Daniel Doherty and Margaret Gallagher. The officiating priest was Fr. Bernard Walker. Peter was listed as age 30, Ellen was listed as age 24. Before the marriage Peter was resident in Magheragallan and Ellen in Meenaniller. Both Peter and Ellen's fathers were still living on the date of their marriage.

     Notes from Neil Gallagher:
Bridget ran a boarding type house in Glasgow, where she cared for people who had fallen into hard times, including many people from Donegal. Bridget and James moved from Glasgow to Gweedore shortly before the death of James.
        After James died Bridget went back to Scotland to be with her daughter Catherine. (This is mentioned in letters written by Joe Mhánais to his sister, Grace, in America).
