The following is Andrew's obituary, in the Wilkes-Barre Record, Thursday, October 15, 1942:
Andrew L. Ruddy died suddenly late Tuesday night at the home of his cousin, Mrs. Andrew J. Mulherin, 109 Spruce Street, city, following a heart attack.
The funeral will be held from the funeral home, 689 Hazle Street, on Friday morning at 9 with a requiem mass at 9:30 in St. Leo's Church, Ashley. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover.
Mr. Ruddy spent his entire life in this city. He was member of St. Leo's Church and the parish Holy Name Society.
Surviving are these brothers and sisters, John, Michael and Cornelius Ruddy , all of this city; Patrick Ruddy, Bethlehem; Mrs. Agnes Burgunder and Mrs. Helen Watson, the latter from Scranton.

Funeral notice: Wilkes-Barre Record Saturday, October 17, 1942:
Funeral of Andrew L. Ruddy, late resident of 109 Spruce Street, city, was held yesterday morning from the funeral home, 689 Hazle Street, with requiem mass in St. Leo's Church, Ashley, by Rev. Harold Mulrooney. During the mass solos were sung by Prof. and Mrs. Edward Henehan.
Bearers were Patrick Ruddy, Cornelius Ruddy, Peter Lyons, James Boyle, James Youran and Peter Mulherin. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover.

In 1930 Census, found a John F. Ruddy, age 43 living at 399 Blackman Street. Also wife Catherine, age 42. Catherine's father born England, mother born Wales. Figure this must be son of Michael and Ellen Ruddy, he is the only John in my database. Occup listed as Brakeman with (looks like SteamRoad???)
