Sister M. Flora Mulhearn, R.S.M., of Mercy Center, Dallas, died Friday in Mercy Center Nursing Unit.
She was born Rosemary Mulhearn on Oct. 13, 1914 in Freeland, the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Hoffomier Mulhearn.
She entered the Sisters of Mercy, Dallas, on Sept. 8, 1934, and took final vows on Aug. 16, 1940.
She graduated from College Misericordia with a bachelor's degree in art and earned a master's degree in fine arts from Columbia University.
For 41 years, she served on the faculty of schools in Wilkes-Barre, Towanda, Johnstown, Bath, Plains Township and Plymouth, as well as Flushing, Bethpage and Bayside, N.Y. During that time, she also served on the faculty of College Misericordia's fine art department.
She joined the Prayer Ministry in 1988 and came to Mercy Center in Oct. 1994.
She was preceeded in death by a brother, Allison, who died last week.
Surviving are a sister, Dorothy Campbell, Elizabeth, N.J.
A wake service will be at 7 pm today at Mercy Center, Dallas, with a funeral Mass at 11 am Monday in Blessed Sacrament Chapel at Mercy Center.
Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
Funeral arrangements were made by the E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, Wilkes-Barre.
