     1880 Census lists her living at 44 Lehigh Street with her husband, and children John, Charles and Anna. Age 57. Born in Bavaria.
Bil Corcoran has her born Oct. 1829 in Deirsburg, Baden Germany.

     1880 Census lists Anna age 13, living at 44 Lehigh Street.

Her father Leopold's obit lists survived by a daughter Sister Evangelista.
Anna must have gone into the sisterhood, unless she had another sister.

Individual Note:
     According to Caroline's obituary, she was born in the town of Sargetsell. Could not find this on map of Germany. I did find a town of Sargenzell, which is probably the spelliing today. Sargenzell is a small town less than 10 miles north of Fulda.

Listed in 1870 Census as living in Wilkes-Barre with mother and siblings.
Age listed as 12.
Was living on Park Avenue in 1905.
Was living at the family home on Park Ave. when she died.

Funeral of /Mrs. Hendler
Many friends and relatives were in attendance at the funeral of Mrs. Joseph Hendler, which took place yesterday morning ay 9 o'clock from the family home, on Park Avenue. A solemn high mass of requiem was celebrated at St. NMicholas Church with REv. Father Goeckel celebrant, Rev. Father Hearn deacon and Rev. Father Bernett subdeacon. At the conclusion of the mass the remains were taken to the Hollenback Cemetery, where burial was made. Members of the German Catholic Ladies' Aid Society of which the deceased had been a member for many years, attended in a body. Tyhe pall bearers were Jacob Miller, John Goman, Mr. Gattner, Henry Scott, Nicholas Cronauer and J. Alles.
(Note, Chris Langdon said she is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, not Hollenback).

     W-B City Directory, 1889-1892 list Joseph Hendler, a mason/stonemason/contractor, living at 117 Park Ave. during those 4 years.
Also found Joseph Hendler listed as the contractor on the construction of Edwardsville Borough Building:
1899- The present Town Hall was erected at a cost of from $12,000 to $14,000. It is a three story building of brown stone and brick. The lock-up which is part of this building has six steel cells. The building is 30 feet by 15 feet.

Death of Miss Catherine Mehm
After suffering for several months with a complication of diseases Miss Catherine Mehm breathed her last yesterday morning at her home 237 South Welles Street. She was very well known in this city and had been employed in the Coutrtright Avenue lace mills for the past fifteen years. Deceased was a communicant of St. Nicholas Church and a valued member of the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin. One brother, Louis, and two sisters survive. The funeral will probably be held on Thursday morning with services at St. Nicholas Church.
